Yogi Bear™ and Boo Boo™ and our activities staff want to make sure that you'll have a great time camping with us at Jellystone Park™ in Indian River. Daily activities will always include a chance for everyone to visit with Yogi Bear™ and Boo Boo™, as well as games, crafts, wagon rides, candy bar bingo and evening cartoons. Theme weekends provide extra fun and excitement for the whole family!
Campground Capers 2014
Weekend activities begin as soon as we open for the season. Daily activities will be offered beginning June 9 and continue through Labor Day. Weekend activites continue until we close on September 30.
Without further ado Yogi Bear™ and Boo Boo™ announce our themed weekend schedule for the 2014 camping season:
May 15: Campground opens for the season.
May 16 - 18: Campground Clean-up Weekend: Bring your work gloves and rakes and give us 5 hrs. of your time on Saturday helping us spruce up for the season, and we'll give you FREE camping on Friday and Saturday night! Cabins are available for $30.00/night (rustic) or $50.00/night (comfort) in exchange for your work! Canadian guests can camp Sunday night for $15.00...Happy Victoria Day!
May 23 - 26: Memorial Day Weekend: Pool opens for the seaon. No minimum stay required in campsites, 2 night minumum in rentals. Join us for a weekend full of activity to kick off the summer! We'll have our ever popular Indian River Box Car 500 race, and a Bouncy Horse race. Ladies of all ages can enter our newspaper hat fashion show! We'll have a group campfire/S'mores roast, and wrap up the weekend with a pancake breakfast on Monday ($ - FREE for veterans or activ service men or women). Late checkout at no charge.
May 30 - June 1: Pic-a-nic Basket Weekend: In honor of (or to tease) Yogi Bear™ this weekend is all about pic-a-nics and baskets. Saturday will feature an all campground potluck picnic lunch with contests for the best picnic recipes (pasta salad, deviled eggs or desserts). Enter our basket raffle for a chance to win a beautiful picnic basket for your family. Weave a small basket with our activity director.
June 6 - 8: Easter in Jellystone Park: Easter crafts and activities including dyeing eggs, Easter egg hunts for tha kids, and a very special one for the adults too!
June 13 - 15: Fathers Day Weekend: Dads will receive a free gift just for camping with us this weekend! We'll have some special activities for dads and their kids and a family Ice Cream Social ($ - Free for dads).
June 20 - 22: Wizards, Fairies and Magic Weekend: Flaunt your best Wizard-wear or Fairy wings (for the costume contest) and prepare for a magical time. Comedy Magician John Dudley returns with a magic workshop for the kids, and a show for the whole family!
June 27 - 29: Pirates Plunder Weekend: Feel free to dress the part as you hunt for treasure! Treasure hunts for all ages, pirate games and crafts.
July 1: Canada Day: We'll have a "Red & White" Canada Day parade, an Ice Cream Social ($) and other activites to help our neighbors to the north celebrate!
July 2 - 6: Independence Week at Jellystone Park™: Red, White and Blue parades, tie dye, glow parades, carnival games, crafts and more! We'll be celebrating the whole week! Come watch for Yogi Bear™ and Boo Boo™ in the Indian River Fourth of July parade! We can't do fireworks here at the park, but we'll have all the scoop on where you can go for the shows! 3 night minimum stay over the U.S. holiday.
July 11 - 13: Christmas in July: All your favorite Christmas activities... Make an ornament, decorate Yogi Bear's Christmas tree, decorate a Christmas cookie, or make a graham cracker house. Santa Claus will visit on Saturday evening and pass out gifts (parents please bring a small gift for your children for Santa to give to them). We'll have a decorated sites contest for a chance to win free camping, and we'll cap off Saturday evening with a quiet walk through the campground to view all the decorated sites.
July 18 - 20: Mexican Fiesta: Pinatas, fun and games from south of the border! Virgin Margarita Hour includes a Salsa and Queso contest.
July 25 - 27: Western Weekend: The highlights of the weekend include horse and pony rides for the kids, compliments of Maple Ridge Stables, and our very popular Chuch Wagon Supper on Saturday evening ($).
August 1 - 3: Camper - Ranger Challenge Weekend: Welcome back for another edition of competition! This year we promise no campground chores, and more fun - for all ages. We'll be preparing our rangers for this weekend, so get your game on!
August 8 - 10: Haunted Halloween I: There's a full moon on Sunday, but we bet you'll find plenty of spirits haunting the ranger's creepy old house on Saturday evening! We'll have a costume contest, and trick-or-treat around the Chipmunk Circle Drive in the park too!
August 15 - 17: Yogi Bear's Birthday Bash: Cindy Bear™ will be here this weekend to help Yogi Bear™ celebrate his birthday, and you're invited too! No need to bring a gift, just come for the games, cake and ice cream!
August 22 - 24: Thanksgiving at Jellystone Park: Our pre-Labor Day tradition continues with new crafts and games, and as always, our fabulous feast. Our volunteers will handle the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatos, gravy and beverages, and we ask everyone else to bring a dish to share.
August 29 - September 1: Labor Day Weekend: Wrap up your summer with some of your (and our) favorite Jellystone Park™ activites! No minimum stay! Late checkout on Monday at no charge. Daily activites end at noon on Monday.
September 2: POOL CLOSES FOR THE SEASON
September 5 - 7: Chocolate Lovers Weekend: Who doesn't love chocolate? We'll do chocolate crafts and have a chocolate fondue party on Saturday evening. We'll supply the fondue, and ask campers to bring goodies to share for dipping!
Septembetr 12 - 14: Mardi Gras Weekend: Games, crafts, pinatas, costumes, masks, a parade and BEADS! Don't miss it!
September 19 - 21: Fall Fest: Celebrate the change of season with us! Great fall activities and crafts. Saturday evening features a Chili Cook-off/Potluck supper followed by a group campfire/S'mores Roast.
September 26 - 28: Haunted Halloween II: More Halloween fun to get everyone psyched up for the real deal just a litle over a month away! Carve or decorate pumpkins ($), play some batty games, bob for apples, trick-or-treat through the campground and pay a visit to the rangers creepy old house...if you DARE!
September 30: Campground closes for the season. HAPPY HIBERNATION!
